Sanjay Dhawan

Sanjay Dhawan serves as Vice President, New Business Technology and Operations at SBA Communications, a leading independent owner and operator of wireless communications infrastructure with over 39,000 communications sites throughout the Americas and in Africa.
In his role, Sanjay is responsible for supporting and advising on technology and RF design aspects around the organization’s core wireless communications infrastructure business as well as new business initiatives.
Sanjay brings 33 years of international wireless telecom experience across North America and the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, working in designing, deploying and optimizing networks with wireless carriers. He has worked extensively with 5G wireless technologies and architectures since the early days of 5G. During his tenure in the wireless industry, Sanjay has worked with wireless carriers on multiple generations of deployment from 2G to 5G. He has held professional and leadership roles in wireless and fixed systems spanning the technology and strategy domains.
Sanjay holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech, with a specialization in Computer Engineering and Computer Communications. He also holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Electrical Communications from the Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology.
