Jay Schwarz is Chief of the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) Space Bureau where he leads a 45-member multidisciplinary team of attorneys, engineers, and other professionals. Before joining the Space Bureau, he served as Vice President of Public Policy at Comcast, where he focused on broadband policy at the federal, state, and local levels. Prior to his time in the private sector, he was Wireline Advisor to FCC Chairman Ajit V. Pai and held positions within the FCC’s Wireline Competition Bureau, Wireless Telecommunications Bureau, and the Office of Strategic Planning. Jay holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh and an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University.
