Managing Director
Mr. Funk is a Managing Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Technology Group. He is based in the firm’s Miami office.
Previously, Mr. Funk was a Managing Director at MVP Capital, an independent advisory firm that provides a range of advisory services to clients in the technology, media, and telecommunications sector, prior to its acquisition by Houlihan Lokey in 2020. Over his career, he, and teams he’s led have closed on more than 250 deals, including M&A, sale-leasebacks, and private debt and equity capital placements totaling more than $3.5 billion in value.
Mr. Funk’s transaction experience includes representing multiple private-equity-backed tower companies in divestitures, negotiating sale-leasebacks for wireless carriers and broadcasters, and raising capital for tower developers and in-building wireless providers.
Prior to joining MVP Capital, Mr. Funk worked at Nations Media Partners, a Kansas City-based investment banking firm specializing in various areas of telecommunications, media, and publishing, for seven years.
Mr. Funk graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Communications from Washburn University and has been honored as an Alumni Fellow.
