Brendan Cavanagh joined SBA in 1998 and has been President and Chief Executive Officer since January 1, 2024. He previously served as Chief Financial Officer beginning in 2008. Before then, Cavanagh held several leadership roles across the company, including Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer and Vice President, Site Administration. Over his career at SBA, he has had responsibility for finance, capital market activities, accounting, tax, information technology and lease administration.
Prior to joining SBA, Cavanagh served in the audit and assurance practice of Arthur Andersen. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Consolidated Edison, Inc. and on the Board of Directors of 4KIDS of South Florida, a nonprofit foster care organization.
Cavanagh is a Certified Public Accountant and received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Wake Forest University and his Master of Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University.
