Akhil Gokul serves as the Head of Technology for the Americas at Ericsson, where he leads efforts to align the company’s technology portfolio with evolving market demands. He is a key voice in shaping Ericsson’s strategic vision across the region, with a focus on the evolution of wireless technologies—including 5G, 5G Advanced, and the future of 6G—as well as spectrum policy.
Akhil is a strong advocate for open, cloud-native, and AI-driven programmable networks, and he champions technology innovations that are both standards-aligned and industry-relevant. He works closely with leading organizations such as 3GPP, O-RAN Alliance, and TIP to ensure Ericsson remains at the forefront of global wireless development.
With deep expertise across the wireless ecosystem, Akhil has held a range of leadership roles spanning product management, technology strategy, and R&D in both software and hardware. He has played a central role in driving digital and network transformations for public and private network operators alike.
Akhil holds a Master of Engineering Management from Dartmouth College and a Bachelor of Engineering from R.V. College of Engineering in Bangalore.
