Tim Farrar has worked as a technology consultant for over 19 years, specializing in providing strategic advice to satellite operators, equipment manufacturers and financial institutions.
San Francisco Bay Area in 1999, and developing a multi-million dollar stream of new business in the US between 1997 and 2002. Most notably during this period, he acted as lead strategy consultant for Teledesic Corporation, an innovative broadband satellite venture backed by Craig McCaw and Bill Gates.
In 2002, Tim set up his own consulting firm, Telecom, Media and Finance Associates, Inc.
From 1995 to 2002, Tim was a principal at Analysys
Consulting, a specialist telecom consultancy based in the UK. He led the expansion of Analysys into the US, setting up their first US office in theSan Francisco Bay Area in 1999, and developing a multi-million dollar stream of new business in the US between 1997 and 2002. Most notably during this period, he acted as lead strategy consultant for Teledesic Corporation, an innovative broadband satellite venture backed by Craig McCaw and Bill Gates.
Prior to joining Analysys, he worked as a systems engineer for Smith Systems Engineering in the UK, specifying and developing a range of simulations, databases and data communications software for various government agencies.
Tim has a first class MA in Math and a PhD in Operations Research from the University of Cambridge (UK).
