Dr. Preston Marshall has led, and contributed to wireless efforts across the industry, including the White House study that led to the CBRS band being established, chaired the Wireless Innovation Forum CBRS and Spectrum Sharing Committee, chaired the CBRS/OnGo Alliance to advance 3GPP in private networks and shared spectrum. He led wireless research at Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and was deputy Director of USC’s Information Sciences Institute and a Research Professor at USC’s Electrical Engineering Dept. He recently authored “Evolving to 6G: The Case for a New Approach to 6G and Beyond, which describes an approach to 6G that focuses more on indoor and private networks by extending the control plane core to adopting enterprise standards for cryptography, opening up identifiers, and integrating multiple Radio Access Networks (RANs) into an integrated control plane and user experience.
