Chung Hsieh is a senior StarFire™ engineer at John Deere. StarFire is John Deere’s proprietary correction signal, which enables the company’s GNSS (or GPS) receivers to achieve 3cm accuracy globally without a local reference. Throughout his 12 years with the company, he has worked on IT server, networking, and satellite communication infrastructure projects and is the architect of the current iteration of StarFire. Chung provided technical guidance to enable John Deere’s satellite communication on large agriculture machines. Before his career with John Deere, he owned and operated an engineering services company that specialized in high-speed data capture and signal processing of radar systems. Chung earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles.
